Conference Gala Dinner

Enjoy a night at the Museum!

For CHoPS 2024, the conference dinner will be held in the National Museum of Scotland (NMS) which is located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The NMS was formed by a merger of the newly built Museum of Scotland which houses collections relating to Scottish antiquities, culture and history, and the older adjacent Royal Scottish Museum with international collections covering science and technology, natural history, and world cultures.

The Royal Museum building which partially opened in 1866 has a Victorian Venetian Renaissance facade and inside a grand central hall of cast iron construction that rises the full height of the building, designed by Francis Fowke and Robert Matheson. This is where the conference dinner will be held.

All of the profits generated from events hosted by the museum are gift aided to National Museums Scotland each year.
